The Travel Towers business continues to provide quality work to height services across the country. Although a majority of our revenue is from the Telco sector, the opportunity for growth is now spread across a number of market segments, such as the Renewable and Energy sectors.
A major focus currently for the team is supply to the Stockyard Hill Project located 35 kilometres West of Ballarat in Victoria, which began in January 2019 and is expected to last around eight months.
This project is being managed by Zinfra and consists of 149 approved wind turbines. The Stockyard Hill wind farm has the potential to harness one of Victoria’s best wind resources, will provide substantial environmental, community and economic benefits, and has the potential to power approximately 390,000 homes annually. BOOM is assisting in the build of 66 kilometres of transmission lines to the wind farm, through providing towers to stand poles and installing transformers and string wires.
Due to the size of the project, the team has pulled together to utilise equipment and personnel, not only from the Melbourne depot, but from other depots as well. Currently the project has two 46m’s working ex-Melbourne, one 46m ex-Brisbane and one 55m ex-Wollongong.
Feedback from Zinfra has been positive, with our Operators working in well with the local crews. This has led to recently winning another job with Zinfra in the South East of South Australia.
